Our community was developed where there obviously were a lot of coyotes before... we see them all the time and for the most part... they leave us alone. But just last year there was an area of town where people were being attacked by coyotes. It dang near was happening every week.

If you build where they are... there simply isn't much you can do about it. But if you are out for walks at night or whatever... I'd bring something with you that can protect you... in other words... a gun.
