it sounds like with your wife, that for health reasons she should get some social interaction. I would say yes, but try to limit how many friends you are hanging out with. We have a family of really good friends, whose kids are all good friends with our kids, and we compromised with our kids and said we didn't want friends coming over, but we would organize some family game nights with this one family so everyone could hang out with a friend, but it would be just one family.

Edit: just read the part about husband being an ICU nurse. I would say no in that case. Is there another friend she can hang out with?
