It's definitely a cultural thing. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but it seems like the only people I've ever seen wearing masks in public are of Asian descent. Perhaps this outbreak will shift our culture to accept wearing masks as a good thing - people trying to prevent the spread of sickness.
