I just finished The Overstory by Richard Powers and before that I read The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean. I enjoyed both books. Powers is a gifted writer. I thought he could have tightened it up a bit and he was pretty heavy-handed with the environmental messaging, although that was the point of the book. I really liked The Disappearing Spoon. I never studied Chemistry and the book was a nice introduction to that topic and made it accessible even for a dummy like me.
