Back into reality. He knows it won't be a politician that makes the leap first because they're in a position where they gain nothing or very little by going back "too early" and stand to lose a lot. But the NBA and other sports are losing money hand over fist. They don't serve public opinion like a politician does.
The tricky part will be the commissioners getting enough players on board. If the z-pac and chloroquine work well, that might be the pitch that gets some sports rolling. These athletes have very little risk of major problems to begin with but having a treatment that's working will help reassure.
I would guess the nba starts back up in a week, maybe two (one week is a month from when they stopped). It'll start in empty stadiums. Then they'll slowly ease restrictions if they can get states to buy off on relaxing their stay at home orders.
