Yes, they are both independents and neither a member of any of the "Group of 5"
conferences. Although I sometimes see articles or media discussing "Power 5 schools and BYU." I just chuckle at the thought that if "Army . . . then BYU." As a matter of simple fact BYU is not a member of the G5 conferences (like Army) nor (unlike Army at times) are they usually grouped with them.
Much ado about nothing but BYU is not a G5 school (nor generally considered with them).
