Perhaps y’all should listen to the interview of Tony Jones for context. He is
well connected to both Georgetown and the Jazz beat writer for The Athletic. Tony has some great, yet frank, takes on Mac.

He’d be a great player...no doubt. But how well would he fit into Pope’s system. As mentioned above, he seems to want to be much like Allen Iverson and be a huge scorer, but D1 college ball is different. He’d be great, but in order to be successful for both Mac and BYU, he’d have to work within Pope parameters and be more of a team player. If Mac could do that, he’d boost not only himself and his NBA stock, but also BYU as a team.

It’s up to Mac. If he wants to be Iversonesque, maybe we’d be better off if he took his talents elsewhere.

Listen to the interview in Criddle’s 3rd hour of Tony Jones on Friday May 22. Both the good and the not-so-good regarding Mac.

I’d hope he comes, but for anyone to be a success, check the ego at the door.
