It seems like the answer to your Q is yes, they appear to be locked in
As far as the Bruins, I agree but I think they’d rather have a few warmup games before playing a team who has just won a series. And there’s probably not much difference between playing the 7th seed vs the 8th seed at this point when the points were accumulated so long ago in what feels like a totally different season.

The big advantage in my mind between the 1 and 2 seeds is home ice in the Conference Finals and I guess that’s a non-factor this year.
