Depending on how long you want to do triathlon, and are willing to spend a bit, look into the Vasa ergometer
I was counting up the time spent just driving to swim, change, drive home, etc. and realized I was spending around 2-3 hours a week just traveling to and cleaning up to swim. Just as I thought that, I came across the article below about Sam Gyde, who won his age group at Ironman Texas.

I decided I'd try it, and bought the space saver version with the fold up bench. I used it for 100% of my swim training for Ironman Texas last year, and PRd my Ironman swim by over 2 minutes. I felt great, and saved so many hours during training that I could give back to my family. It is worth every penny.

You can see I'm not super enthused to go swimming, but have put in a ton of hours over the years so I'm pretty confident in open water in races. So, it's just a matter of getting my muscles strong for the race.
