Dodd: "If you didn't think the P5 could leave the NCAA, read this".
He links a letter the Autonomous Conferences (P5) sent to Congress, concerning NIL.
Dodd says that the conferences are asking Congress to "leapfrog" the NCAA to enact national legislation that will preempt patchwork of state legislation.
The NCAA leadership had given lip service to such a move but have yet to formally petition Congress. With this overture, the power conferences have decided to assume control and not wait for the NCAA bureaucratic engine to get going.
