I think of Nixon right after Big 3, but Seljaas was close. Highest respect for
Seljaas because he transformed his game with grit, hard work, relentlessness.

Nixon was always an exceptional athlete with an excellent motor and always willing to do whatever it took to contribute. He was a first rate shooter throughout HS and his perfect free throw percentage as a BYU freshman manifested that he brought that gift to BYU. All Dalton needed was his own self confidence and the confidence of his coaches which he gained during his senior year, and he performed beautifully.

Seljaas was not so athletic and had much more to overcome. He overachieved as a freshman, hitting 3s at a 50% rate that resulted in an offensive efficiency that put him among the Nation's elite. Cougar Nation unrealistically expected his 50% 3s in subsequent years, despite the fact that no one else in history has done so over 4 years.

As a sophomore and junior, the team needed Zac to play PF and rebound. Rebounding and hyper aggressiveness were not Zac's things and he underperformed---until his senior year, by which time he had rebuilt his game and morphed himself into exactly what BYU needed. He became an inspiration and defined the character of his entire team when he ripped the ball out of the hands of Gonzaga's star guard while Zac was on his back! You have to watch it to appreciate how impressive that play was.

I'll be surprised if Zac Seljaas doesn't do big things with his life.
