23 we have played already and 5 more teams scheduled in the future. That number continues to grow.
10 of those teams have played us more than once.
Three of the teams scheduled for 2020 have never scheduled us in independence until this year (ASU, Minnesota, Stanford).
Two of the teams (MSU and Missouri) would have been second games this year.
So two of the ten teams that have opted to play us more than once so far might be offended by this. We have future games set with ASU in 2021, Stanford in 2022 and 2025.
Again... whoop dee doo. I'm not following your gloom and doom domino affect of going after 5 teams during a once in a generation pandemic.
Second point: "The pandemic has very little to do with it" Huh? That's the reason they're going conference only. If that's covered in the contract, then this whole conversation is useless anyway. But I am curious how they could argue force majeure when you're playing some games but not others. I suspect there will be some lawsuits that come from this (probably not from BYU) and it will be interesting to see it play out.
