I think we’re wrong to assume this is solely about Covid 19. P5 Conferences have

expressed desire to go conference only or almost entirely conference only for a while now, way before we knew Covid 19 existed. This is their ideal scenario, then have the conference champs play each other in the playoffs. This isn’t about safety or a pandemic.
