Impacts of a lost football season that could benefit BYU
As I have heard about various athletic programs around the country that were already struggling that could be materially damaged (not wishing pain or damage on any one, any thing or any athletic program), a thought that has run around my mind is how does this impact BYU? BYU's athletic department seems to be well funded and set to survive the current situation better than most programs in the country. I have heard about several athletic programs that are really struggling... Cal., Stanford just dropped about 1/3 of their sports, Rutgers, Iowa St. I'm sure there are plenty of others. If the ramifications eliminate or materially damage some of the current P-5 football programs and/or their athletic departments, does that open a space for BYU to get in? Again, not wishing this on anyone, but just a line of thought that has run through my head a few times. Sorry if I have missed that this has been discussed and I just missed it...
