I see BYU’s only hope as the American conference. I’m not even convinced the MWC will keep its BYU games. Other than Boise, there aren’t a lot of BYU fans in their leadership. Except Liberty and Army, Most of the independents are too poor to play an independent only schedule. Most of the lower level conferences also will have monetary challenges with playing at BYU, as ESPN isn’t going to payout much for that and BYU won’t have full attendance paid to pay them either.

Once they start, there is also high probability that Games will also Cancelled across the country due to Covid outbreaks ( see baseball).

I wish I had a more optimistic take. I hope I am wrong.
