Anyone else think the recent turn of the #wewanttoplay movement could save fall
football? (Granted, any hope is very slim still.)

I personally think that there was a good chance that everything was going to be cancelled before Trevor Lawrence and a few more reasonable minds took over the player movement. As it stands, the movement appears to want (1) safety/testing protocols and (2) the ability for players to opt out if they want to and not lose scholarships. Those are much more reasonable demands than the crazy stuff coming out of the Pac-12 and a few of the other conferences.

They also hint at unionizing in the future, but if that's what they want to do, I am not sure how anything the schools do is going to for sure keep that from happening. And having student athletes focus on their sport as opposed to spending time coming up with unreasonable demands could be a better way for the universities to try to diffuse some of that situation.

Not sure that it will be enough to reverse the momentum toward cancellation, but I think without some reasonable minds taking over the player movement, the season was 100% headed toward cancellation.
