Maybe I’m weird but I have a hard time sitting all the way through a four hour
game where BYU isn’t playing. The older I get, the more I struggle to just sit there. The commercials, play stoppages, timeouts, penalties, replays, etc just suck the momentum out of the experience.

Of course when BYU is playing I am glued to the screen. For anybody else? Not so much. And I consider myself a big college football fan.

Going in person is even worse some times. You pay a bunch of money for a ticket, which is fine, and then spend over half your time sitting there during breaks in play for the TV audience. Especially when it’s freezing cold outside in November and we’re playing UMASS it just kind of loses its appeal after a while.

Conferences are squeezing the networks for more $$, and in turn the networks are squeezing each broadcast for more ad revenue. And the end result, I think, is going to be killing the golden goose.
