I have a usb-c "dongle" that I use on my laptop at the office with 9 ports including hdmi, usb ports, an ethernet port, etc. It has has power in via usb-c.
Our server kept crashing each night a while after I'd unplug my laptop and take it home for the night. Turns out it is poorly shielded and somehow the power cord which stayed plugged in would send "packets" up the ethernet cord which would eventually crash the server. Took a while for our IT to figure out what was happening.
Now I just have to remember to unplug either the ethernet cord or the power cord each night when I unplug my computer and take it home.
