The UH players and coaches went into this fully convinced that BYU was undeserving of their ranking and they were going to expose them. Even the ESPN commentators kept trying to push this narrative that the UH QB was sick of the Zach Wilson hype and he was going to prove he is the better man or whatever.
When BYU took over the 4th quarter, the normally arrogant UH players resorted to taking out their frustrations with classless behavior resulting in “the spit.”.
My hope is that Kalani will get a call from the UH coach with an apology and that the guilty player will be dealt with. But my guess is that he is cut from from the same cloth as the 2014 Memphis coach.
