TNT Intervention Needed
Rewatched Back to the Future.....
1. Huey Lewis' cameo "you are just too darn loud" was hilarious
2. Michael J Fox gets all of the well-deserved attention but Christopher Lloyd and Thomas F Wilson were brilliant in their roles
3. "Make like a tree and get out of here"
4. Alan Silvestri's score is amazing. You can hear some of the cues which would later be heard in Predator which he scored

Did you know?

--Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis originally wanted to take the project to Disney. However Disney thought scenes of a son kissing his mom was "incest" and decided to pass. Gale and Zemeckis wanted to not be permanently thought of with Spielberg but at the end of the day he was the only one interested in the project
--Director of photography was Dean Cundey of "Halloween" fame who photographed many of John Carpenter's films. He decided to bathe the scenes in 1955 with a yellowish tint to give it that romantic quality and used a more standard white filter for the scenes in 1985
--The original mechanism for Marty to return home was to be powered by an atomic powered explosion. However when Universal didn't want to provide extra money for those sets Zemeckis went back and came up with the lightning device. Which he believes ultimately made for a better story
--Michael J Fox wasn't originally too worried about how the film was doing during shooting. He said he was completely exhausted because of the daytime shooting schedule of Family Ties and then shooting Back to the Future at night. He said he was getting about 2 hours of sleep each night. He was just trying to make it to the next day
--When they decided to fire Eric Stolz five weeks into filming it was because they didn't feel like they were getting the laughs with the comedic stuff
--Contrary to popular opinion Michael J Fox was already a star from Family Ties. Many women showed up to the shoots at the exterior for the homecoming dance hoping to see him
--Originally the Delorean was not the time travel device. It was a refrigerator among other ideas. It was the mobile idea that made it into a car
--The filmmakers didn't know they had a hit until it was screened for the first test audience. It received the highest test screen results for any Universal film to that point
--Michael J Fox had played guitar as a teenager so the scenes in his own band and the "Starlighters" didn't take as much prep to shoot for
--Christopher Lloyd originally was not interested in doing the movie. But after talking to Zemeckis on the advice of a friend he decided the guy knew what he was doing
--The crew said Thomas F Wilson is one of the nicest guys ever but he played Biff perfectly drawing on his own experiences being bullied as a kid
--There were 3 Deloreans used in shooting
--Some of the initial inspiration for the film was when Bob Gale was reading one of his father's yearbooks. He had no idea he was class president
--Thomas F Wilson has said Stolz was a real jerk during filming. He wasn't sorry to see the guy let go. Stolz insisted the crew call him Marty even when not shooting. The method acting style wasn't always welcome with the other members of the cast
