This Afrin thread got me thinking. How many non-Drs are addicted or know someone addicted to Afrin? Now, how many Drs
know people addicted to Afrin? Drs, what do you think is the % of users who get addicted?

I personally think Afrin is one of the great medicines out there. I used to love Tavist D for colds, they eliminated that one. Found a ok replacement in Sudafed w/Ephedrine, they now have that behind the counter.

This thread made me realize how close it sounds like maybe we are to losing Afrin, to hear Drs talking about how addictive it is.

I get a cold, I take Afrin at night so I can sleep, and maybe in the day if completely eliminating a runny nose is necessary for meetings or such. This lasts maybe a week or so and I have ZERO pull to take it longer than the duration of the cold. 6 months or a year or 2 later, when I get a cold again, I do it over again and each time stopping is as easy as the last. I would absolutely HATE to lose Afrin like so many other drugs.
