share a few thoughts to help inspire hope during a time where most of you need it.
First I’ll share today’s stats. Not to be boastful but just want to demonstrate what can be done with a good attitude and a little competitive spirit:
Cmp: 28
Att: 40
Yds: 185
TD: 3
Y/A: 11.7
My completion % and yardage would have been much greater but our 2nd councilor in the bishopric kept yelling all game “hey! I’m open! I’m open!” So after we had a comfortable lead early in the 4th I decided to give him a few passes so his yelling wouldn’t drown out the energy of another great win. He dropped all 3 passes - two of which were back shoulder dimes that he just couldn’t hold onto and the other he went post when I clearly said skinny post.
I also decided to throw a couple to our ward library and technology coordinator who was wide open downfield — both times the ball bounced right off his chest. He was like “hey man, you throw like John Elway” and I was like “yeah, I know - thanks”.
Anyway, I wasn’t planning on going. This year has been rough on most of us but I knew my ward really needed me so I decided I’d go for them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
