We could be 12, even 10, and be left out because auto-bids from >12 got in.
If Pac12 and B1G auto bids are >12, than BYU at 12 wouldn’t get in.
Right now 10 spots are taken: 3 from ACC (Nd, Clemson, Miami), 2 B1G (tOSU, Northwestern), 1 Pac12 (Oregon...but likely now USC), 1 BigXII (OU), 2 SEC (Bama and Florida), and 1 G5 (Cinci).
So, 2 spots are open, and they will go to highest ranked teams. Right now that would be aTm and Georgia.
