I don't remember what we paid when we did this, but we asked a very responsible girl from the ward (over 18)

She had been my wife's YW group, and had babysat for us on many occasions previously. We paid her pretty well. We also didn't have a kid in diapers at the time.

The other similar thing we did was fly grandma out to Utah from Missouri. That's a good option, if that makes sense for you.
