I believe two of our players “from Utah” who didn’t play for the Utah Prospects are Caleb Lohner and Spencer Johnson. I put “from Utah” in parentheses because Lohner is mostly from Texas and only moved to Utah to play at wasatch academy. Johnson played HS ball at American Fork HS.
Yoeli Childs, Gavin Baxter, Connor Harding, Jesse Wade, Hunter Erickson, Trevin Knell, Richard Harward—all played for the Utah Prospects. There is no doubt the most successful AAU program in Utah in getting kids to play college ball is the Prospects, also known as Exum Elite.
Kids almost never get a scholarship based on high school performance, at least to D1. College coaches want to see how a guy plays against other D1 players and that just doesn’t happen in Utah high school ball. Thus the need to travel to where the competition is.
