Then I don't think your Walmart has upgraded their system yet. Apparently Walmart is now blocking all
mobile payments but Walmart Pay, or whatever they call it. Sounds like it's being rolled out gradually though.

Nope. You can't use Samsung pay at Walmart. And you can't just use it anywhere. The merchant has to accept it, just
