About 7 years ago our company did a corporate event at the old Braves stadium. Hank Aaron made an appearance. Our marketing team made it very clear Mr. Aaron was not signing autographs. From what I was told ( I later found out) about 15 or so years ago he made a policy he would no longer sign stuff because he was upset about people profiting off his name sake.
Anyways as the event was ending I made a quick trip down to my car to get a couple things. As luck would have it he was parked next to my car. I had my trunk open and he saw that I had my sons baseball gear in it. I also had a bucket of balls and a bunch of other baseball stuff. He asked about it and I told him it's all my boys stuff.
He asked if I had an extra ball. I pulled one out of the bucket and he pulled a pen out of his dress jacket. He signed the ball and asked me to give it my boys. He thanked me for keeping the game alive in our youth, shook my hand and drove off into the sunset. The ball sits on a their shelve in a case.
