The plan is to send a module in 2024? It will attach to one of the ISS ports and
be part of the ISS for a few years. Components will slowly be sent up and attach to this new module to make it self sustaining and when the ISS is sent to burn up in the atmosphere it will detach and become the new space station.
Russia has already said they want to part of it though.
