Getting a spouse involved in something they're not particularly interested in is tough in any case, particularly financially. It's interesting to see this dynamic amongst couples, for some I know the wife does almost all of the financial management, others they're barely involved. However it's done, I very much believe there should be full transparency of the current situation, future plans, and what would potentially happen if a spouse died unexpectedly.
