I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 15 year mortgage. Rate difference is
similar for me. 2.25 from 3.25. It shaves 4 years off my current mortgage payoff. If I pay an extra $400/month on my current loan, I'll pay it off in 15 years. If I get a 15 year, I pay less than $200 extra per month. Ran my break even numbers on this loan and I break even in 8 months on the closing costs.
