I just did the same. So many people fool themselves into thinking they'll save
and invest that extra money. They don't. Better to eliminate your biggest liability as soon as possible and give yourself some security.
Inflation is going to make it easier to pay off your home sooner in the coming years, but the value of the home will also rise dramatically. Its already started. Paying off a home and maintaining that equity is an investment and one you won't squander on a new car or frivolous spending.
