Yahoo news now requires you to sign over your privacy to advertisers???

When I click on any news story, in place of news pictures, I get this funny message

This content is not available due to your privacy preferences. Update your settings here to see it.

When you click on it, it takes me to a website called "oath" with this scary requirement:

"Allow the sharing of my personal data with content and social media partners to enhance my content experience:"

anyone else get this? I don't want to hand over my "personal data" to anyone in social media. I don't like them, I don't trust them, and I'm not selling myself so cheap. I can't even find a news article on this about how stupid this is. Did everyone just sign up for it?
