Wondering about best way to get a site with first-come and busy traffic this...

..time of year. Any experience or tips getting a site? (I've read some people drive up on Tues/Wed and reserve a site all the way through the weekend, paying 5 nights to camp 2.) Any suggestions?

There is a camping site just across from Red Rock. You can reserve spots. Lots of hiking around.
