Notice how much of the rest of the world has LOWER rates than we do??

Fed/Puppet president aren't going to let pain happen to that degree. It may start but they will yank it back and bring rates back down. The Fed has really backed themselves into a corner. Combine that with the fact that our society doesn't think pain is okay...

Not to say things don't blow up at some point in the future...like really blow up. But that is a ways off.
