I suppose you have to initiate a reimbursement fund. Nope, it won’t be perfect. But I’d prefer that ranchers not run their cattle roughshod over public land. If you lose cattle to predators on your own land that your family has owned for multiple generations, I’m on your side, and I want you to successfully make your living at what you know and love.
As I already said, environmentalists take things too far. But so do a lot of ranchers. Oh, and I almost forgot—elk hunters do, too—big time. Too many elk hunters have a hard time appreciating aspects of nature that make their passion more difficult.
