Lots of people practice medicine without a license; homeopaths, energy healers,
etc, fall into this category.

I'm a licensed mental health therapist. One of my clients had an energy healer tell him that the reason he was gay was because he had a "spirit twin" trapped inside his body, one of whom was female, which explained why he was gay. This person then told my client that once the female spirit twin was removed (through the healer's skill of course), that he would no longer be gay.

I had to tell my hopeful client he was being lied to. Fortunately, he took the news well.

I had another client who has a homeopath who told her that the supplements he sells will "cure" all of her mental health and physical health challenges. He has convinced her to spent hundreds of dollars a month buying his supplements, and of course the problems remain.

For all intents and purposes, these people are practicing medicine and mental health without a license. I would like to see the state go after them hard. Doing this kind of harm to people should be a criminal offense.
