I have and do believe that a souped up AAC has a shot at automatic qualification in the future if and when the playoff expands wheras staying Indy does not. If you added Boise, BYU, SDSU and App State to the mix it would still be G5 BUT it would put a lot more pressure on college football to include this conference in the mix especially so if the Pac-12 continues to fail to put teams in the playoff and/or produce elite teams. The argument would be that the AAC while not having any college football blue bloods, would essentially be as competitive as the Pac-12 or even the ACC sans Clemson.
