I keep going back and forth on. Some of the Big12 leftover teams get picked up
by Pac12, Big10 or ACC. But there will be some schools like TCU, Baylor and K-State that have a good shot of not getting picked up at all by a P5.

What will be the fate of these schools? One side of me says that the power brokers in CFB would fight like hell to keep them alive as P5, considering that’s what CFB has been doing for the past 40 years. If you’re in a “power” conference, even if you suck you are still the a “power” school. It’s an exclusive club and the power schools look out for their own. It’s the same reason why Rutgers, Vandy, Oregon St, etc are still in power conferences. Their conference mates would never kick them out.

But at the same time, I could see CFB basically just say screw it, sorry guys. You’ve had some bad luck and there is nothing we can do. Go to the AAC.

Being demoted from P5 to G5 is a death sentence. And it’s really never happened in CFB, unless you count the Big East leftovers.
