Crowton was in a tough place, & tried his best. Many of his personnel decisions were against all sense of order, though. Much like Doman, only he had much more of a clue as an OC.
But the management side of HC-ing was not his strong suit. And BYU was a very tough go for him because of all the additional dotted "i"s & crossed "t"s that are required as opposed to most places.
