This is true as long as there are enough teams left. If there are 5 or more the
Big 12 will take from the AAC. But if there are only 2-3 big 12 teams left it will go the other way. All 8 are going to try to get into one of the power 4 conferences. The question is how many will actually be invited.
The scenario you described is the best case for BYU so lets hope none of the other schools get invited to power conferences
