By all accounts during the last go around with the B12 when they didn't add anyone, BYU was clearly the strongest candidate. Now BYU is completely absent from nearly all articles/texts/tweets/podcasts/etc. featuring pundits views, supposed inside information, or even just speculation.

I'm not sure if that means anything at all, but I find that very interesting.

It appears that every B12 fan, sportswriter, or insider has now completely bought the "BYU is hard to work with" and "BYU is not worth the headaches" messages.

Frankly, it's best to know, up front, that you have no chance than to waste time thinking there is even a Lloyd Christmas chance of being invited.

At this point it's probably best for BYU to do everything they can to maximize the value of indy while they still can. But the reality is that it seems like the end of major sports at BYU may come sooner rather than later. And at this point, as much as I love BYU sports, I'm not sure that's such a bad thing. Drop down a division or two, or disband intercollegiate sports altogether. In some ways either of those outcomes is better than continually beating your head against a wall when there is no hope.

It's going to be interesting to see what the future brings.
