BYU is still being mentioned a lot, but in the last decade some other school have risen and the shine has come off of BYU a bit. In 2015, BYU was a 9-win per season team with 4 consecutive top 25 seasons in recent memory.
Since then BYU has had one magical season (2020) that a lot of pundits discount (whether that's justified or not is another matter) and some rougher seasons. And it's been a decade since BYU's last multi-season run of success. So BYU isn't as strong a candidate as they were 10 years ago or even 5 years ago.
At the same time, other schools (UCF, Cincy, Houston, even Memphis) have turned into stronger candidates than they were at the time.
