There is a third option.
The remain at 8.
The TV contract will be reduced but that’s all.
They remain an autonomous conference.
They retain the A5 distribution from CFP
They remain of the five conferences that have weighted vote on CFP Board of Managers and on the NCAA Council.
They will still be able to hold a CC game, that pits it 2 best teams.
Adding two more teams would increase available inventory for the TV contract but it won’t be enough to compensate for the loss of OU and Texas.
