I was in the service (Iwakuni MCAS), on a mission, and went to Japan 13 times doing research. Love the country, but would not like to live in Tokyo. Just published a book on the other side of Imperial Japan: Gentleman Samurai and Internationalist. Also studied Chinese on a Fulbright to Singapore. Wonderful country as well
