Just had some classmates tell me that just about everyone in our cohort (70
people) do weed, adderall, or some other drug. Oh, and about 40% of them do cocaine. And I’m in physical therapy school. They tell me it was worse in the undergrad programs and even some friends they have in med schools do the harder stuff due to their workload.

People really don’t know how to deal with stress. So many of my classmates have prescription for that weed and adderall. Coming from byu, it’s even more impressive for me how we have so many people who have their act together. They know how to positively deal with their stress without drugs—going to church, meeting with a counselor, exercising, eating healthy.

Obviously there are people who need these prescriptions, and I get that…but not every single person in a grad program. My classmates’ responses to my opinion was “well, it’s just so accessible now” (we’re in CA).

Anyway, just a small rant. It’s just really crazy to me.

60% of my med school used amphetamines. They're better doctors for it. (jvquarterback, Jul 30, 2021 at 12:34pm)
