Death Valley testing had the AC turned off and tires aired up and still required a semi-truck generator support to charge it every night. They could barely get 100 miles in off-road range in those miserable conditions, and that's not even low-speed trail climbing like the TFL guys were doing.
EVs are just flat out not ready for off-road (unless you are considering small day trips close to charging infrastructure), but hybrids (like the 4xE) offer benefits.
