I think that musically the Chicks song is fine. What bothers me about it is that
the original has a tone of introspection and self doubt. There is so much vulnerability in her voice and you wonder if Stevie Nicks even believes she can make it through the landslide in her life that she is confronted with.

The Dixie Chicks version was recorded at a point in their careers where they were all about girl power and it shows in the tone of the song, which is more resilience and invulnerability in the face of the landslide.

I just find the Stevie Nicks version way more interesting and the Chicks version more of a commercial sell out that is not true to the original intent of the song.

I think the Smashing Pumpkins version is more true to the original and you can hear the hurt in Billy Corgan's voice.

But I'm definitely not one to criticize your opinion of the song. Fans of bluegrass may like the musical elements of the song and others may prefer like the positive tone of the Chicks version.

So don't take my post too seriously. That's why i included the smiley face.
