With Sapporo a strong candidate for 2030, plus Los Angeles already slated to host 2028, it's not likely the IOC would pick Salt Lake for 2030, so the noise is that they'll wait for 2034

Salt Lake will take them again. The infrastructure is here and so is the support. The IOC won’t pick them.
