First, I don't see Whitt passing it off to Scalley unless he is certain that Scalley has what it takes. Then, it's already been talked about that Whitt will take on an advisory roll when he steps down. People thought Utah would take a hit when Scalley took over for Sitake, actually Utah got better.
As I said below, Scalley just needs to keep the team focused for playing BYU, the talent will do the rest. Whitt does NOTHING special (actually plays very generic) to beat BYU, just controls the ball and waits for his defense to get you, oh wait, that's Scalley's defense isn't it.
