I think that was the point. His character was do bad whoever came in long term was going to look better. They wouldn't have looked as good if it went from Michael Scott to Robert California. Following a legend is almost impossible but following the person who followed the legend can succeed. Think Lavell, Crowton, and Bronco.

Agree with this. His character changes wayyyy too drastically to be believable.

Andy starts annoying and ends annoying. He does have a stint in the middle where he’s a solid character though.

Yes. They change (necessarily) but I thought they were still really funny.

Season 9 is pretty darn good. 8 is not great, but has some decent moments.
